Chris Reed was appointed City Manager for the City of Nassau Bay in August 2009. Chris has twenty-seven years of experience in municipal government; as part of that tenure he served as the City Administrator for League City, Texas and is a Retired Assistant Police Chief. In 1993, he was awarded the Law Enforcement Purple Heart for being shot in the line of duty.
Chris was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and holds a Master of Science degree from Sam Houston State University. He is a graduate of the 210th Session of the FBI National Law Enforcement Academy.
He was selected by the Shepperd Leadership Institute of the University of Texas- Permian Basin as Texas’ 2012 Outstanding Local Leader.
He is active in the Lions Club, previously serving as president, and is a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship for his commitment to humanitarian work. He served as Chairman of the 53rd Annual Village Fair and Music Festival. He is a member of numerous professional and civic organizations, including past President of the Bay Area Alliance, past President of League City Toastmasters, CCISD Education Foundation Board Member, Communities in Schools Board Member, AMOCO Federal Credit Union Supervisor Committee, and the Hope Village Capital Committee. He also serves on various committees in the community and in Clear Creek Independent School District.
Chris makes his home in Nassau Bay with his wife of 24 years, Jana, and their three children: daughters Logan and Alexis, and son Chase.
